Craigengillan Estate

“Where natures magic grows”

 

Nestled deep within the grounds of Craigengillan Estate sit two beautifully restored cottages.

The cottages named ‘Forget Me Not’ and ‘Find Me Out’ sit peacefully in a sunny woodland glade by the banks of the rushing Glessel burn.

Whether you want somewhere to escape the hustle and bustle of the city or provide the perfect environment to celebrate that special moment, whatever the reason, we are sure our self service cottages will be perfect.

Find Me Out cottage has a double bedroom, bed can be split into two singles, a living room with a cosy log fire and sofa bed that sleeps two and a traditional kitchen, complete with a working Aga. A secure fenced garden for the dogs to play in, or the children to play safely in.

Forget Me Not, thatched cottage has a double bedroom upstairs, that can be split into two singles,(with option of extra bed), a double bedroom downstairs with a log fire, (with the option of another bed in there too). The kitchen/living room is complete with working aga. Has a sofa bed that can accommodate another two. Shower toilet downstairs, and bathroom upstairs. Secure fenced garden to the rear of the property that allows dogs and children to play safely.

Outdoors, there are a wide variety of things to see and do during your stay. From the Ness Glen gorge walk, to some fishing and outdoor activities, we have something for everyone.

 

 

Loch Ken Holiday Park

Loch Ken Holiday Park is a peaceful family owned and managed, 5 star, award-winning camping and caravan park, positioned on the shores of Loch Ken, Dumfries & Galloway, South West Scotland. Galloway Activity Centre has a range of different accommodation on offer including Mongolian Yurts, Camping Cabins, budget bunkhouse rooms, Safari Tent and luxury off grid eco-bothies. All are available whether booking into activities or just here for the scenery.

Mongolian Yurts – sleeping up to 6 around a log burning stove, this is a great way to escape with something a little different. Basic self catering facilities are provided

Camping Cabins – comfortable wooden cabins down by the loch with lighting, heating and electricity

Geodesic Dome – equipped with a wood burner, sleeps up to four and commands stunning views over Loch Ken

Safari Tent – Stunning views over the loch and sleeping 5 in two separate bedrooms

Bunkhouse – Our 20 bed bunkhouse can be booked for exclusive use or by individuals. 5 bedrooms and a central living/dining area

Blairinnie

Blairinnie, an escape to rural bliss – the perfect getaway for walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts with stunning countryside to explore on and around the estate.

Located in a peaceful location, with stunning views over open countryside, Blairinnie, a detached property is located on Barwhillanty Estate and makes an ideal holiday base from which to explore the surrounding area. Barwhillanty, which has been family run since 1884, is a 5000-acre estate set in the beautiful Galloway Hills of Kirkcudbrightshire in south west Scotland. This 19th-century farmhouse has been renovated to an excellent standard and benefits from over 18 miles of picturesque walks on the estate – route maps are provided, and trout fishing is available on request. The surrounding area offers a tremendous amount to occupy guests: golf courses, sailing, horse riding, cycling (both road and mountain bikes as this is the famous 7Stanes country!), amongst many other adventurous activities. For those with young children there are also a number of great days out on the doorstep. If arts and culture are a passion, a quick glance at the surroundings will see exactly why the region has inspired so many artists, writers and craftsmen, from the artist’s town of Kirkcudbright, to the region’s infamous Spring Fling festival, amongst many other events that take place all year round. The food town of Castle Douglas is 7 miles away with everything that could be needed, plus a little more! There is a beach only 10 miles from the property as well as a number of shops, pubs and restaurants within 2 miles.

For those with young children there are also a number of great days out on your doorstep.
