Ayrshire Coastal Path

The Ayrshire Coastal Path from Glenapp to Skelmorlie runs 100 miles along one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the British Isles. Crowned with a superb backdrop of the ever-changing profile of the mountains of Arran across the Firth of Clyde, this coastline is steeped in history and teeming with wildlife. Boasting the “Scotland’s Great Trails” designation, walking one of the 12 sections is the perfect way to spend an active day out exploring. Or why not stay for longer and complete the entire trail, not forgetting to claim your personalised certificate as a memento!

Culzean Castle and Country Park

With a dramatic clifftop setting, Robert Adam architecture, fascinating history & beautiful surrounds, Culzean Castle and Country Park is one of Scotland’s best days out.

This glorious 260ha estate was once the playground of David Kennedy, 10th Earl of Cassillis – a man who was keen to impress with his wealth and status. Opulent to the extreme, the park is planted with conifers and beech, sculpted around miles of sandy coastline dotted with caves, and finished off with a Swan Pond, an ice house, flamboyant formal gardens and fruit-filled glasshouses.

The castle itself is perched on the Ayrshire cliffs, incorporating everything the earl could wish for in his country home. It was designed by Robert Adam in the late 18th century and is filled to the turrets with treasures that tell the stories of the people who lived here.

Wildings Hotel and Restaurant

Few Hotels in Ayrshire offer the same combination of coastal setting, superb restaurant and modern accommodation. We are situated just a few minutes drive from Turnberry Hotel and the bedrooms feature a clean decor to reflect the soft, reflected light of the sea and to brighten the dullest winter’s day. Most have sea views as good as any hotels in Ayrshire, looking out over the harbour and across to the Isle of Arran and north to the woods of Culzean Castle. All our accommodation is spaciously planned to be comfortable and relaxing.

Choose from double, twin or single room, and all have LCD TV and tea and coffee making facilities.

Breakfasts, lunches and dinners and served in two of the most friendliest of Ayrshire restaurants with a smart styling and sea views, so you can enjoy relaxed atmosphere and great varied menus in a great Ayrshire hotel.

Wildings Hotel and Restaurant

An Ayrshire hotel, Wildings is well known for modern cuisine taking advantage of the lush, clean countryside and clear seas to source the very best local ingredients, setting the standard for an out of town restaurant in a coastal setting.

We are a family run Ayrshire restaurant, providing a close attention to detail across an exciting and wide choice of menus, that continuously adds exciting changes around dishes that have been chosen favourites for many years.

Wildings feature a comfortable relaxed ambience with an outlook across Maidens Harbour to the Holy Isle and the Isle of Arran. We welcome families out for the day, enjoying the Ayrshire coastline and sophisticated evening diners.
