Welcome to the Imperial Hotel

Located in the quiet market town of Castle Douglas, this former Victorian coaching inn and listed building is a family run establishment that offers a warm and friendly welcome to guests and non-residents alike. The Solway Coast is one of the most beautiful corners of Scotland and is a haven for many outdoor pursuits such as country sports, fishing, cycling, sailing walking and touring. If nature is your thing you won’t be disappointed, Dumfries and Galloway is renowned for its abundance of wildlife all year round.

Restaurant & Bars

At the Imperial Hotel residents and visitors can enjoy delicious meals prepared to order using fresh local produce whenever possible, and then enjoy a refreshment in our attractive lounge bar. Alternatively we have two cosy back-to-back public bars and a games room with pool table, two dart boards and a jukebox to help you relax.

What we offer:

With properties accommodating parties of 2 up to 26 there really is something for everyone, including the dog!

Our aim is to ensure that holidaymakers receive a warm welcome and an everlasting holiday experience, ensuring visitors return time and again. East Brae Cottage

 

East Brae Cottage is a traditional Galloway Cottage, set in the beautiful Dumfries & Galloway countryside, on the A75 Road and 20 minutes’ drive from Dumfries. It offers rooms with free WiFi and views onto the surrounding farmland.

Each room at East Brae Cottage has simple, pleasant decor with TV and tea and coffee facilities and All our accommodation in on the ground floor. There is access to a shared bathroom, while one of the rooms has an en suite shower room.

Breakfast is served in the dining room and  is made from only the finest, locally sourced ingredients, offering a tasty Scottish breakfast, made from meaty sausages, crispy bacon, fresh black pudding and haggis, and free range eggs, while lighter options are also available

Delicious homemade evening meals are also served – just book them in advance.

You can go walking in the surrounding countryside and nearby sights include Castle Douglas, 20 minutes’ drive away. The West coast is around 15 miles from the property.

Stranraer’s ferry connections to Ireland can be reached in 90 minutes by car, while to the East, Newcastle and its links to the Netherlands are around 100 miles away.
We speak your language!

Cyclists and walkers will definitely want to make the most of the excellent walking routes and quiet cycling trails and nature lovers won’t be disappointed either as the region  abounds with fascinating wildlife and beautiful scenery. Head into town to have a drink at one of the traditional public houses, or visit the local antique shop, to discover unusual treasures.
