Whether you want somewhere to escape the hustle and bustle of the city or provide the perfect environment to celebrate that special moment, whatever the reason, we are sure our self service cottages will be perfect.

Find Me Out cottage has a double bedroom, bed can be split into two singles, a living room with a cosy log fire and sofa bed that sleeps two and a traditional kitchen, complete with a working Aga. A secure fenced garden for the dogs to play in, or the children to play safely in.

Forget Me Not, thatched cottage has a double bedroom upstairs, that can be split into two singles,(with option of extra bed), a double bedroom downstairs with a log fire, (with the option of another bed in there too). The kitchen/living room is complete with working aga. Has a sofa bed that can accommodate another two. Shower toilet downstairs, and bathroom upstairs. Secure fenced garden to the rear of the property that allows dogs and children to play safely.

Outdoors, there are a wide variety of things to see and do during your stay. From the Ness Glen gorge walk, to some fishing and outdoor activities, we have something for everyone.

Situated in the picturesque village of historic Alloway in Ayrshire, a 10 minute walk, or two minute drive to the world famous Brig O’Doon, Burns National Heritage Centre, the Brig O’Doon Hotel and Burns Cottage, and on the edge of the main town of Ayr, the Bothy has glorious views over the idyllic River Doon which runs for half a mile as the property’s eastern boundary, offering excellent opportunities for bird watching and riverside walks. It is also just a 2 minute drive from the coast and views of the Isle of Arran, Mull of Kintyre and Isle of Bute.

Doonbank’s Bothy is a beautifully presented two storey, one bedroomed detached house. It is very spacious, quiet and peaceful and set within four and a half acres of Doonbank Cottage’s secluded private woodland garden.
The bothy sleeps two adults. We also have  a free cot for under 2s and (on request) a separate single fold a way bed for an under 10 year old. As well as having access to the woodland garden and river, it also has it’s own private back garden to relax in.

Greenan Beach is a sandy stretch of beach a few miles south of the town of Ayr on Scotland’s western coast.

It is overlooked at its southern end by the 16th century Greenan Castle which is perched on a cliff above the strand. The stunning views make it a popular spot for walkers, dog walkers and horse riders alike.

There is a car park on Greenan road which offers easy access to the beach.

Culzean Castle and Country Park

With a dramatic clifftop setting, Robert Adam architecture, fascinating history & beautiful surrounds, Culzean Castle and Country Park is one of Scotland’s best days out.

This glorious 260ha estate was once the playground of David Kennedy, 10th Earl of Cassillis – a man who was keen to impress with his wealth and status. Opulent to the extreme, the park is planted with conifers and beech, sculpted around miles of sandy coastline dotted with caves, and finished off with a Swan Pond, an ice house, flamboyant formal gardens and fruit-filled glasshouses.

The castle itself is perched on the Ayrshire cliffs, incorporating everything the earl could wish for in his country home. It was designed by Robert Adam in the late 18th century and is filled to the turrets with treasures that tell the stories of the people who lived here.

DUNDONALD CASTLE

AND

VISITOR CENTRE

War and romance, smuggling and heroism, tales of the supernatural and more – Royal Dundonald Castle is one of Scotland’s most unexplored and fascinating treasures.
Home to Scots King Robert II, grandson of Robert the Bruce; it’s where the formidable Stewart dynasty was born. The 14th century Castle, its ancient hilltop and surrounding woodland hold their secrets and those of the powerful Cochrane family, favourites of King Charles I.
Experience impressive barrel-vaulted ceilings, enjoy spectacular coastal views and join the Castle Team for stories and rare finds from the site’s 2000-year-old past. The Castle’s rich history is illustrated for all ages, through initiatives in Education, Archaeology, Events and Exhibitions.
Dundonald Castle’s legacy is just beginning. It’s a vibrant ‘living’ monument and holds a special place in the heart of its village. The busy Visitor Centre and welcoming café are the focal point for the famous Dundonald Highland Games and a unique place for local residents and their children to make memories for years to come.
