“The Association of Dumfries & Galloway Accommodation Providers (ADGAP) was set up as a result of concerns over the creation of a private public partnership to operate a centralised booking centre and website for Scottish Tourism.

Accommodation providers in Dumfries & Galloway realised that these plans were flawed in concept and were likely to damage the perceived quality of their product. To guard against this the association was formed in Autumn 2002 with a constitution defined so as to promote the high levels of quality and service provided by its members.”

Aims & objects of the Association are as follows:

  • To further the business interests of Accommodation Providers within Dumfries & Galloway.
  • To maintain and develop a standard of ethical practice amongst Accommodation Providers.
  • To promote good business relations between accommodation providers and with other businesses in Dumfries & Galloway and elsewhere.
  • To promote and develop good business skills, communications and methods amongst Accommodation Providers.
  • To facilitate the transfer of experience and skills amongst members of the Association.
  • To advise, liaise and negotiate on behalf of the membership with VS, VSD&G, vs.com and any other relevant body.
  • To promote Dumfries and Galloway as a holiday destination
