Ronald Rae Sculpture Exhibition
The Ronald Rae Sculpture Exhibition comprises twelve large granite sculptures and is located on the outskirts of Creetown.
(adjacent to the warehouses of WhiskyBroker Ltd.)
This is an outdoor exhibition on a derelict industrial site.
The sculptor felt that art can be enjoyed anywhere, by everyone including children.
Nearly sixty years ago he sought out his first large granite stone from Creetown quarry within sight of the present location.
One of the sculptures “Boy with Calf”; is hewn from Creetown granite and dates to almost 500 million years ago.
Admission is free and the site is open during office hours on weekdays from 10am to 17.00 with early closing on Friday 10am to 12.30. On-site car and coach parking.
There are a number of other sculptures in Creetown including a granite orb by Japanese sculptor the late Hideo Furuta in Adamson Square.
