Welcome to The Masonic Arms
A traditional, yet contemporary designed bar.
The building itself dates back to 1790, when built originally as the Masonic lodge of St Cuthberts. Freemasonary began in medieval Europe but lived on as a social organisation. If you were to look at the front of the building there is plaque with details of the lodge emblem with a compass and three castles.
Offering one of the largest selections of draught lagers and beers in the area, alongside our cask ales which have managed to gain a place in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide.
We pride ourselves on our comprehensive selections of Malt Whisky, Vodka, Rum and other Craft Spirts from across the globe.
And then there is our Gin selection……………….... We stock a massive selection of over 250 gins specialising in Scottish Gin but with many obscure and hard to find from a selection of other countries.
Having this choice and specialising in Gin we have gained the accolade of being Scottish Licensed Trade News, “Scottish Gin bar of the year” finalists 2018 and 2019.
