The fields, hills and valleys of the South of Scotland are populated with farms, breweries and distilleries, so is it any surprise that our shops and markets are bursting with local produce? In addition to farm shops, many of the towns have monthly farmers’ markets allowing dedicated foodies to purchase fresh ingredients for their own kitchen. Or you can enjoy local produce and seasonal goods at the restaurants and cafes connected to our farm shops. Boiled sweets hailing from the Borders region – Soor Plums, Hawick Balls, Jethart Snails are a must taste. As are our delicious cheeses, Lowland malt whiskies and spirits. You can pickup gift hampers filled with everything from shortbreads to smoked fish – we have more than enough to set your mouth to watering.
