Galloway In Pencil

Newton Stewart

Beautiful detailed drawings from around Galloway. Prints, cards, ornaments and The Wee Book O’ Galloway In Pencil showing some history of the buildings featured.

Working from home Heather produces her artwork from which she does her own scanning, printing, mounting, framing and packing to produce various sized prints, cards and ornaments. A recent addition has been her first book where she has researched the history of some of the buildings she has drawn.

About The Artist:

Born and raised in the wee rural village of Kirkcowan, Heather loved drawing from an early age. She kept up her studies of Art and Design throughout High School, gaining top grades in the subject.

Although she has always enjoyed drawing, it is not until as recently as 2016 that she began selling her artwork. In that year she experimented with different mediums but in 2017 she settled on her strongest medium of pencil and formed her business name “Galloway In Pencil”.

Heather is now focusing on the beautiful structures, landscapes and animals found throughout our lovely countryside of Bonnie Gallowa’. She travels, from her home in Kirkcowan, throughout the region with her camera finding subjects for her drawings.

The drawings themselves have many many hours of detail carefully drawn from her own photographs into the artwork you see.

Heather enjoys learning the history of all the buildings that are featured in her drawings and has gathered the information into “The Wee Book O’ Galloway In Pencil” which is now included in her products for sale, any of which would make a beautiful wee keepsake of Galloway.
