You don’t have to fret about finding entertainment for your wee ones on holiday here, not when there are so many fantastic family activities awaiting you in the South. We have visitor centres and attractions that are suitable for every age; from petting zoos for small children, to mountain bike trails and ziplining courses for big kids. In fact, when it’s time to leave, you’ll discover it won’t just be the children begging to stay just a little longer…

Where to Visit?

Kick off your tour of the South by heading to Dalkeith, a short drive from Scotland’s capital and home to country parks, treehouse forts and butterfly habitats. Then make your way to Jedburgh, where your little ones can embark on an adventure in inclusive playgrounds or eerie castle jails. Out west, deep in the UNESCO Biosphere is Castle Douglas, where watersports, archery, hiking and climbing are all possible.
