Dumfries & Galloway Aviation Museum
The restored Control Tower of the former WWII airfield at Dumfries, Scotland is the centerpiece of the Dumfries & Galloway Aviation Museum and is now a listed building.
The Museum is run by volunteers
and houses a large and ever expanding aircraft and aero engines collection. Also a very impressive display of artifacts and personal histories relating to aviation, past and present.
Both civil and military are represented.
There is also a small, but ever expanding collection of memorabilia honouring airborne forces.
The Solway Military Trail
brings together three of the area’s greatest attractions;
The Devil’s Porridge, The Solway Aviation Museum and The Dumfries Aviation Museum.
Visitors to any of the three attractions should ask for a Solway Military Trail voucher which entitles them to half price admission at one of the other attractions.
