Clatteringshaws Visitor Centre Cafe

New Galloway

Clatteringshaws Visitor Centre is on the shores of Clatteringshaws Loch near New Galloway. It is owned by the Forestry Commission and the cafe is run by Galloway Lodge Preserves.

The cafe is in a lovely location on the shores of Clatteringshaws Loch. The loch is a haven for waterbirds in the summer and the cafe has magnificent views across the loch to the Galloway hills beyond.

The cafe has seating both indoor in the recently refurbished building and outdoors at picnic tables on the lochside.

A few minutes walk from the Visitor Centre is a reconstructed iron age roundhouse which was discovered when the loch was drained thirty -odd years ago.
