Café at Clatteringshaws
The Cafe at Clatteringshaws and visitor centre is open all year round and is dog friendly.
Offering freshly prepared café fayre and daily specials. Come and try our homemade soup, cakes, tray bakes and freshly prepared cherry and almond, fruit or cheese with a hint of chillie scones.
We also support local crafters and artistes by displaying their goods in the café
The café overlooks the tranquil Clatteringshaws Loch, a haven for birds and wild life and boasts stunning views to the rolling Galloway Hills.
While your here why not visit the red deer range, the otter pool or come and see the wild goats! All just a short distance from the Café at Clatterinshaws. You’re sure to be an instant hit with the wildlife if you ask our staff for some carrots to feed the deer!
On a clear day, look out for the mighty Merrick, highest hill in the Southern Uplands, soak up the stunning views or meander beside the loch to the historic Bruce’s Stone one of two stones dedicated to the Scottish king in the Forest Park.
This is also one of the best places to enjoy the night sky – the visitor centre overlooks the darkest part of the Forest Park, which ensures a particularly dramatic stellar show.
