About Forest of Ae

The scenic Forest of Ae is located between Nithsdale and Annandale, with the first trees being planted in the 1920s. The forest is most well known for its mountain biking trails and it is part of the 7Stanes project. The trails range from beginner to highly advanced. Ae is a 'Priority Forest' for Red Squirrel conservation and the nearby Water of Ae has a thriving population of otters.
