About Abbey Cottage Tearoom

The team at this family-run tearoom have been making homemade soups and snacks, baking scones and cakes and serving speciality teas and coffees for almost 40 years!
The combination of their great home baking and fabulous location next to Sweetheart Abbey makes it a really popular place for Afternoon Tea.
There's a choice of indoor, outdoor and dog-friendly seating, all with table service.
From personal experience, the team have an excellent understanding of vegan, coeliac and other special diets, food allergies and intolerances.

It's an ideal place to start your Criffel walk or enjoy a more leisurely stroll around the historic village of New Abbey, just six miles from Dumfries on the South West Coastal 300 (#SWC300). Abbey Cottage Tearoom is situated right next to the ancient ruins of Sweetheart Abbey and a short stroll along the pretty Main Street will take you to the fascinating New Abbey Corn Mill.

The village’s public car park is just a few metres away from Abbey Cottage which has convenient level access.
