A’ The Airts in the Royal Burgh of Sanquhar is a Community Arts and Crafts centre nestled in the heart of Upper Nithsdale, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.
Our fully accessible building is a hub where individuals can meet and express their creativity. Our varied groups who use the centre also love the warm and welcoming atmosphere here. Locals and tourists alike can enjoy great refreshments and free wi-fi in our café.
Here at A’ The Airts we are providing a platform for local artists and crafters to sell their works either in our shop or during exhibitions held in the Gallery. Our shop has a wide variety of crafts available, many of which use the Sanquhar patterns (some items are only sold here).

Our shop is a great place to browse unique Sanquhar Pattern goods – some not sold anywhere else – and a superb variety of wares from local crafters.
We have a theatre that can seat a maximum of 50 individuals, suitable for small productions, performances and talks. It is equipped with a projector, for presentations and is used as a community cinema. The seats are retractable, so that the space can be easily opened up for other uses. Tai Chi, and playgroups, parties and conferences have all used this space.
The theatre doubles as a gallery and we have further exhibition space throughout the building. We generally have many exhibitions throughout the year both by amateur and professional alike and we are always pleased to hear from groups or individuals who would like to consider the space for future exhibitions.
We have two craft rooms, which our local community arts and crafts groups use on a weekly basis. The groups currently include pottery, photography, poetry, knitting, patchwork. The larger of the two rooms has a kiln for pottery and a potter’s wheel. The smaller of the two rooms is an ideal space for meetings.
