Portpatrick is a delightful harbourside village on the coast of the Irish Sea. On clear nights, you can see the lights twinkling on the coast of Northern Ireland and the sun setting behind the Mourne Mountains!
Portpatrick is a great centre for touring the Rhins and Machars of Galloway including the Mull of Galloway, Scotland’s most southerly point, Wigtown – Scotland`s Book Town, Whithorn – Scotland`s Cradle of Christianity. We are also near Galloway Forest Park and the Galloway Hills.
Culzean Castle is a popular attraction for our visitors. The run up the Ayrshire Coast from Portpatrick to Culzean along the SWC300 is one of the most scenic for miles. You can stop off at Dunure on the way or check out the Electric Brae! Ayr with its history of Rabbie Burns is only a few miles further up the coast from Culzean and is also a popular day trip from Portpatrick.
