Read our 5 Star Reviews.

Set in ancient woodland with river frontage and breath taking views, Nithbank offers the experience of luxurious accommodation and personal service combined with the freedom and privacy of feeling right at home. One of Scotland’s Best B&B’s.

Once the private residence of the Chamberlain to the Duke of Queensberry, the beautifully presented rooms are impressive in style and size. In this secluded and tranquil setting, guests can relax and unwind in a choice of 3 luxurious bedrooms all with complementary organic toiletries and fluffy bathrobes.

The Chamberlain’s Suite has views over the river, Tynron Doon and the Nithsdale Valley. This suite has a super-kingsize bed, gilt arm chairs, sofa, antique wardrobe and dressing table, as well as an en-suite bathroom with copper freestanding bath and walk in shower.

The Morton Suite enjoys views onto wooded grounds and hills beyond. It features a super-kingsize bed, gilt arm chairs, tweed sofa, marble fire surround, antique wardrobe and dressing table, as well as an en-suite bathroom with gold freestanding bath and walk in shower.

Alternatively, The Dabton is a classic kingsize double room with double aspect garden views, mahogony sleigh bed, period furniture and its own private bathroom.

Enjoy a Full Scottish Breakfast as well as homemade jams, muesli, granola and scones with fruit grown using organic methods in Nithbank’s kitchen garden. The owners champion locally sourced, seasonal Scottish produce and support many talented local producers. Bespoke packages can be arranged for special celebrations with flowers, chocolates, champagne, luxury hampers, etc.

Holders of the Gold award for Green Tourism, the owners are proud advocates of sustainability, conservation and promoting wellbeing, helping guests connect with nature, the natural environment and local culture. Nithbank Country Estate has also been recognised with the Biosphere Certification Mark from the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere in recognition of their commitment to sustainability.

Your hosts Melanie and John are happy to help with your itinerary and pre-book activities of your choice – whether its wildlife watching, field sports, fishing, golf, walking, cycling, mountain biking, yoga or a distillery tour! Castles such as Morton, Drumlanrig and Caerlaverock are just a short drive away with many other great places to visit in the area.

We look forward to welcoming you to Nithbank very soon… the Kettle will be on!

    Testimonials

"One of the most lovely and hospitable places on earth! Our stay with Mel and John was incredible! We don't want to go! An amazing cycling experience with Galloway Cycling Holidays: The landscape and people of Galloway were the stars. Our route included a visit to the grave of the inventor of the bicycle! Then scones in our suite, I don't want to ride I just want to sit here and look at the view!!"
