Knockquhassen Farm is a former croft set in 4 acres of garden and fields. We moved here from the Bristol area in late 2014 to make our home in this beautiful part of the country. We started Knockquhassen Farm B and B in May 2015 and

We offer 2 rooms for guests,

A twin downstairs and

A double upstairs.

We aim to serve high quality local Scottish food on our breakfast menu. Most ingredients are produced in Scotland and/or locally in the Galloway area. Please feel free to ask about any food items and we will be happy to explain their origins.

We are happy to cater for any special dietary requirements such as gluten or lactose free on request. Healthier options are available where possible e.g. low fat spread, low fat yogurt; please let us know when booking if you have any particular requests.

We have 3 cats and 2 horses plus a few hens who provide the eggs for breakfast!

There are several barns (including one for the horses and one for our resident pair of barn owls!) and secure parking for guests.

For cyclists, safe bike storage is available in a locked outhouse or in the house if preferred.

We can offer transport to and from Stranraer, Cairnryan and Portpatrick by arrangement and there are also excellent taxi services available.

We are located on the Southern Upland Way in a peaceful, secluded spot with wonderful panoramic views from the house and garden. We welcome walkers including those with dogs, and there is safe cycle storage and ample opportunities for cycling in the area. We are also ideal for anglers as the house is a short walk from Knockquhassen Reservoir which can be fished for trout. For those wishing to explore this beautiful part of Scotland staying with us gives easy access to the Rhins of Galloway and we are only a short drive from the Galloway Forest Park. The house itself and the local area are excellent for wildlife; there are also numerous gardens to visit nearby which benefit from the mild maritime climate here.
