"“What to say about Galloway? Nothing other than fabulous! Can’t believe not visited this beautiful part of the country before now. Even 2 weeks isn’t enough to explore everything so a return trip must be organised. The dogs had plenty of woodland/forestry walks as well as runs on beaches and coastal paths to explore. Highlights were woodlands: Wood of Cree, an RSPB managed woodland near Newton Stewart, Carstramon wood, a Scottish wildlife woodland 3 miles north of Gatehouse of Fleet. Beaches: Sandhead, Ardwell Bay (on the west side of the Rhins) and Port Logan. Mull of Galloway lighthouse and a climb to the top well worth a visit. The Gavin Maxwell Memorial just beyond Monreith is a must. Thanks to Alison and Dave for providing a lovely cottage to stay in and chill out in at the end of the day as well as the thoughtful welcoming goodies for humans and dogs too! Wonderful.” "
