About Faldarroch Farm

Faldarroch is a fully renovated, historic small farm, built in the Victorian period and now restored with period features. There is a log burning stove and even a Victorian black range. There is a four poster bed in the generous master bedroom, and two cabin beds and a single in the family room. It is situated in a secluded rural setting in the central Machars, with no overlooking neighbours, and with its own paddock and pond ( 1 - 2 metres deep). It has a Gold Award under the Green Business Tourism Scheme for super insulation, and its underfloor heating, powered by a wood pellet boiler. You may even spot some red squirrels!

It is a short drive or cycle run to Port William village, with its shop and community-run cafe, and sandy beaches north and south of the village. Inland, you can reach Sorbie, passing by the sheep's cheese outlet at Ewe to You, and experience real Italian cookery at The Pheasant Inn. Nearby in Whithorn, you can visit the earliest Christian monument in Scotland, and the Museum and Iron Age roundhouse. Further north, there is the outstanding scenic area at Mochrum Lochs. If you're interested in books, then nearby Wigtown, just along the Bladnoch, is an absorbing visit. Bladnoch Distillery, situated on the river, is the southernmost distillery in Scotland
