"We have just stayed 4 nights at Cavens, following on from the previous 4 nights at the Fringe festival in Edinburgh with the grown up kids. After our exhausting time in Edinburgh, they all caught the train home and we motored down to the Solway coast for what was the perfect antidote. Its so peaceful and relaxing there. Big skies, endless sands, piping curlews, good walking, many nature reserves to visit and the feeling that we have it all to ourselves. And the hotel complemented all this very well. With just a few luxurious rooms and a few friendly staff, we immediately felt very at home there and got a lot of quality sleep. ........"
