We have three delightful self-catering cottages, Brighouse Bay Holiday Holiday Cottages, a terrace of former farm workers cottages, overlooking the unspoilt bay of Brighouse, on the north Solway shore.

The cottages are in a peaceful rural setting 2 miles from Borgue, and a bit further from Kirkcudbright, and they have expansive views over Brighouse Bay, the rolling Galloway hills and over the Solway to the Isle of Man. There is just a total of six properties on Brighouse Bay.
Our cottages, called Cormorant (4 star), Oyster-Catcher and Sand Piper are three attractive, comfortable, self catering cottages, fully equipped to identical standards, with all the facilities required for a family holiday.
Accommodation:
Living Room – Multi-fuel burning stove (kindling, logs and coal all included). Comfortably furnished with a sofa, two arm chairs, TV, DVD, Video, Sky free view and a CD music system.
Kitchen – Washer/dryer; Fridge/freezer; Dishwasher; Electric cooker; Microwave; Dining table and 6 chairs; also a high chair on request.
Bathroom – 3 piece white suite with shower over bath.
Upstairs – 3 bedrooms:
Master bedroom with en-suite shower room; one further double bedroom and one twin bedded room. Travel cot available on request.
Parking – to front and rear of cottages.
Pleasant enclosed garden – with seaviews, garden furniture and BBQ.
Pets – Well behaved dogs are welcome at all our properties.

The bay boasts magnificent views over the Irish Sea and is surrounded by 1200 acres of great walking country. Quiet rural roads make for safe cycling, and there is a free-to-use slipway closeby if you want to bring along your dinghy. At the head of the bay there is a safe sandy beach.
A few minutes drive or cycle away from the cottages there is golf, horse-riding, an indoor swimming pool, and a restaurant. Kirkcudbright, the Artists’ town is just a few miles away via a scenic coastal drive, and a few miles beyond is Castle Douglas, renown for its high quality, locally produced food.
