Sounds very interesting! A wee detour from the South West Coastal 300 perhaps? It's Father's Day this Sunday so why not plan a trip to Dunaskin and treat your Dad to a run in our 1944 LMS Director's saloon behind our vintage 1941 Diesel locomotive!

It's a new "Dawn" for the Scottish Industrial Railway Centre this Sunday with us operating a "vintage" diesel locomotive hauled service for the first time. So come on down and enjoy the 2 mile round trip and dive into the Industrial past of the Doon Valley where coal was king and iron ruled the throne of industry!

Gates open at 11am with the first departure at 11.20am. Trains leave Dunaskin every 20mins (approx.) with the last service departing at 4pm. Tickets and boarding passes are available in our well stocked shop on the day.

We look forward to seeing you all!

(Trains running on Sunday are subject to availability of locomotives and traincrew. We reserve the right to cancel or amend advertised services at short notice up to, and on the day)

A wonderful from the summit of Byne Hill near Girvan. If you’re reasonably fit, you should be able to get to the top and back in about 2 hours and enjoy the amazing views of Ailsa Craig, Arran and the Clyde Coast.

As you can see we had a fantastic day at our Solway Coastwise - #WorldOceansDay at Port William; finding out about local history, the problems with plastic, renewables, birds, sealife and much more. There were also lots of fun activities and great food at The View Port William. Look out for future posts about some of the stories behind the placenames that we discovered.
Thanks to everyone who took part in this year's event:
