Browse through the book shops in Wigtown and enjoy a leisurely lunch or pop down to Whithorn and see the relics from the Bronze Age at the museum and Visitor Centre, tea and cakes are a speciality in Whithorn too, as well as original home made Italian ice creams. Nearby you might take a leisurely stroll down through the woods to St Ninian’s Cave used as a retreat in the 6th & 7th centuries, it is such a lovely peaceful shore it is easy to understand why.
To the west are the renowned gardens at Castle Kennedy, Logan, Glenwhan and Ardwell where you can find impressive displays of beautiful plant life.
