Birchlea Lodge is a 3-bedroom holiday log cabin in the seaside village of Kippford on the sheltered Colvend Coast. It sleeps up to 6.
Overlooking a pretty lochan in an exclusive landscaped site, Birchlea Lodge is perfect for a relaxing break. And at less than 1 hour from the Border or only 2 hours from Central Scotland, the stunning scenery and mild climate is ideal to discover or rekindle your love of Scotland!
Birchlea Lodge provides a modern alternative to a holiday cottage. Built from slow-grown Norwegian pine, the blond wood means it is light inside but solidly constructed. Cosy in winter and perfect for the summer with sliding doors to verandas on 2 sides, its own grassed garden and a communal picnic table beside the lochan. There are also garden games included.
Facing south and west it is well situated for the sun. Well equipped with a fully modern kitchen, fridge, freezer, electric oven & hob and a microwave; or there are 2 seafront pubs which serve food all day & outdoor seating only 10-15 mins stroll away. The lounge is spacious
Kippford, an old fishing village, is on an inlet where the River Urr meets the sea. A unique aspect is its ‘no-through road’ with a pretty coastal path leading to shell & shingle beaches. With islands in the bay, backed by forest, it is perfect for walking. There is also the National Trust’s Jubilee Path, which adjoins it to neighbouring Rockcliffe, with its pretty sandy beach and Iron Age Hill Fort, the Mote of Mark.
Whether you want to enjoy the scenery, walk, golf, sail, cycle, visit historical sites, or have a traditional bucket and spade holiday, Birchlea is well placed for the many activities the area has to offer!
We welcome pets – the area is ideal for dog-walking.
