    Carsphairn (Gaelic: An Corsa Fearna)

Attractive village located on the A713 between Dalmellington and St. Johns Town of Dalry. Known as the "Heart of the Hills," Carsphairn is surrounds by hills: Cairnsmore of Carsphairn, Scaur Hill, and the Rhinns of Kells in the Galloway Hills, The hills separate Ayrshire from Dumfries and Galloway (Kirkcudbright). The location suits many outside activities such as: hill walking, cycling/mountain biking, bird watching, fishing, and star gazing.

Other interests are the nearby disused Lead Mines which was the main industry in the century 1800-1920s, Daltallochan Stone Circle, Annual Sheep Show, a white painted church, war memorial and the Carsphairn Heritage Centre. The Carsphairn Heritage Centre not only has historical information of the village but of the families/family history of the area as well. A new family-friendly exhibition which begins Easter is entitled, Tales, Legends, and Spooky Stories.
